Leaving Hamilton and being chased by a dog on the way out of town, the Brawny Sherpa and I drive past windmills that weren’t there years ago and appreciate the scenery. Ahead on our itinerary is my one-time home town of Rochester, a quick pass through Buffalo, and then Niagara Falls.

In Rochester, we will stay downtown, in view of Kodak tower and the Genesee River. Before visiting old haunts—Cobbs Hill, Henrietta, Penfield, Brighton, the George Eastman House—I introduce the Brawny Sherpa to the delicacy of my youth: pizza bagels. First stop: Bagel Land at 12 Corners.
