A Lofty Stay at Homewood Suites in Midtown Manhattan
The Brawny Sherpa and a youthful adventurer have concert plans at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan that will necessitate an overnight stay nearby. We choose Homewood Suites on West 37th Street for the proximity and the price. The entire family gets together for dinner beforehand, after which some of us plan to split off and head back to the suburbs.

When we arrive in our room, though, we are surprised by its size. With two double beds, a pull-out sofa, and a kitchenette, five can stay here easily. The rooms are pristine, modern, delightful.
The lobby boasts coffee and a fireplace. The staff is actually friendly, a not-too-frequent occurrence here in touristy Manhattan. We are so enthused, the other youthful adventurers and I decide to linger in town a bit longer, heading up to the rooftop to sit and relax a bit before venturing north to the Marriott Marquis where we can really appreciate New York real estate from lofty heights.

Seated in the View, we enjoy dessert and some sparkling beverages while watching the city go by us. The youthful adventurers are new to revolving restaurants, a throwback to the ‘70s for some of us. They think it should spin a bit faster. I am just fine with its speed.
In the morning, back at the Homewood, we grab a free breakfast before heading north on the train.
While we wouldn’t typically opt for Midtown West on an overnighter to New York, Homewood Suites, a Hilton property, is so pleasant we will definitely seek to stay here again.
