Booking.com, known for providing accommodations (including some unique ones), is offering this limited opportunity. Travelers may book a spot in the sandcastle beginning on Aug. 22, 2019 with the stay to take place on Aug. 23 and 24. Given limited availability, potential guests may want to check early and often to try and book a spot.

What Is the Sandcastle Made Of?

Yes, there are some 100 tons of sand that went into the building of this so-called Sand-sion (rhymes with mansion), and as the name implies, some amenities are involved.

Booking.com’s sand castle at Luna Park in Coney Island is 18 feet long and wide and eight feet tall. Built by Matt Long, a master sand sculptor and a former cast member on reality television show Sand Masters (Travel Channel), the sandcastle guestroom does include a bed, but, not surprisingly, there is no wifi or cable. (The interior resembles a yurt.) The bathroom is separate and located near Wonder Wheel Way. Dinner on the pier and a grab-and-go breakfast is included in the deal offered by Booking.com.
